Called "a fine and funky pianist" by Living Blues, pianist/composer Craig Brenner is a multiple recipient of Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) Individual Artist Program grants. A resident of Bloomington, Craig has been voted "Best Musician" in the Bloomington Independent, and Craig & The Crawdads has been chosen best band. A graduate of Florida Southern College, Craig attended the I. U. School of Music from 1976-80, studying with composer John Eaton, pianists Joseph Rezits and Enrica Cavallo Gulli, and jazz educator David Baker. Prior to moving to Indiana, Craig studied with jazz pianist Wally Cirillo and classical pianist Elizabeth Fishbein. Craig has also studied with and performed multiple times with boogie woogie and stride piano master Bob Seeley and with the late blues pianist Big Joe Duskin through one of the IAC grants. email
Author of David Baker – A Legacy in Music, Monika is a touring jazz artist who has performed at many prestigious jazz clubs and festivals, such as the Indy Jazz Fest, Cleveland’s Nighttown, Louisville’s Jazz Factory, the W.C.Handy Festival, Jazz in July in Bloomington and Cincinnati, Columbus’ Jazz & Rib Fest, to name just a few. She has released more than a dozen CDs under on her own ACME Records label as well as Owl Studios. Her awards include a 1994 Down Beat Magazine Award for Best Original Song.
As bassist, educator, composer, and bandleader, Ron has been a staple of the phenomenal music scene in and around Bloomington, Indiana since 1993 . He's played with just about everyone from the Jerusalem Symphony (2 seasons) to John Mellencamp (only once, but still.). Ron teaches a lot of private lessons and has a lot of successful former students.
