She has helped mount art shows for local artists, and planned events for local nonprofits. At the BPP, she worked as Public Relations Director, taught theatre classes, and helped plan the first Gala to celebrate the theater's 25th anniversary.
She has also worked as a publicist for rock paper scissors inc, a local world music PR firm, and VSCpr, one of the top tech PR agencies in the Bay Area.
As founder and editor of online magazine Women with Guts, she has worked with writers looking to tell stories about the gutsy women in their lives - literally and figuratively. Josh Johnson is the owner and operator of Mid by Midwest Productions (MxMW), which he founded in 2012 to provide creative entertainment solutions for local businesses, venues, and private events. Through MxMW, Josh books concerts, produces the annual Bloomington Battle Of The Bands tournament, writes original trivia games for restaurants/pubs, and creates original interactive murder mysteries for private or public events. He also coordinates all promotions for MxMW events. Current and past clients include Rhino's All Ages Music Club, The Bluebird, Players Pub, Scholars Inn, Serendipity Martini Bar, Cardinal Spirits and more.
Prior to starting his own production company, Josh was a talent buyer, venue manager, and booker for many establishments including Uncle Festers, Second Story, Jake's Nightclub, and The Root Cellar at Farm. An alumnus of the Communication and Culture department at Indiana University, he has lived in Bloomington since 1999. Josh strives to continue Bloomington's long and rich tradition of incredible music, art, and community, and currently serves as vice president of the Mt. Salem Cemetery Protection Society and volunteers for other local nonprofit organizations. contact
